The Valley Stream Central High School District welcomed new staff members to the community during its new teacher orientation on August 25th.
Through presentations and tours, the District introduced the new educators to VSCHSD’S major instructional and social-emotional initiatives, familiarized them with their school buildings, and connected them to the wider Valley Stream community through bus tours.
The orientation also included training on the District’s restorative practices and culturally responsive-sustaining education framework, along with practical support in lesson planning and classroom technology. The sessions concluded with building-specific professional development and introductions.
