The Valley Stream Central High School District held its 67th Annual Music Scholarship Festival on March 21, in Central High School’s Keller Auditorium. This long-running Valley Stream tradition—now in its 67th year—showcases all of the District’s high school musical artists, and raises funds for a music scholarship that goes to a graduating senior from each of the District’s three high schools.
Ticket sales from the festival raise funds for a music a scholarship that goes to a graduating senior from each of the District’s three high schools. This year, the scholarship recipients were Noelle Kay from Central High School, Manal Layachi from North High School, and Alyssa Gonzalez from South High School.
“The Music Scholarship Festival is one of our district’s longest-standing traditions—a celebration that brings together our most talented student musicians to showcase their artistry,” said Dr. Adam Erdos, Director of Fine and Performing Arts. “Congratulations to this year’s scholarship recipients, and to all our chorus, band, and orchestra members for delivering an outstanding performance.”
The Valley Stream Central High School District recently hosted it annual Districtwide Music Scholarship Festival, which brings together the District band, orchestra and chorus.
This annual performance has been a VSCHSD tradition for 67 years.
Proceeds from ticket sales go to a scholarship for a graduating senior from each of the District’s three high schools.
