The Valley Stream Central High School District is proud to recognize its valedictorians and salutatorians for the 2024-2025 school year. At North High School, Aleeza Dhillon and Erin Garnier are the valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively. The top scholars at South High School are Bahrija Radoncic and Shalini Ramchune as valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively. In Central High School, Aarish Talukdar is the valedictorian and Shana Benny is the salutatorian for the Class of 2025.
Aleeza Dhillon has a weighted GPA of 112.84 and has served as vice president of the Student Council, senator of Grade Council, and president of the National English Honor Society. An AP Scholar with Distinction, she is a member of multiple honor societies and founded the Valley Stream Teen Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. Aleeza is also an accomplished musician, performing with the District Orchestra at venues such as Carnegie Hall. Her passion for research includes neurology and addiction studies.
Erin Garnier has a weighted GPA of 111.47 and served in leadership roles such as president of Grade Council and officer positions in the Math, Science, and Rho Kappa honor societies. An active member of numerous academic societies, she also contributed to the school community through the Student Peer Organization and as an orchestra section leader. Outside the classroom, Erin is a competitive dancer and an advocate for young girls through Girls Inc.
With a weighted GPA of 110.92, Bahrija Radoncic has distinguished herself as co-captain of Mock Trial, president of the Science Honor Society, and news department head of the Falcon Report. She serves as National Honor Society treasurer and is a member of multiple academic societies. Beyond school, she volunteers at Long Island Jewish Valley Stream Hospital.
Shalini Ramchune, with a 110.57 weighted GPA, leads as president of Student Government and co-captain of Mock Trial while also serving as assistant director for the Theatrical Troupe and vice president of the Science Honor Society. Her involvement spans Key Club, literary arts, and nearly every major honor society.
Aarish Talukdar, graduating with a 111.68 GPA, will pursue engineering physics at Cornell University’s College of Engineering. He earned honors at the Long Island Science Congress and reached the semi-finals of the 2024 International Research Olympiad. He was named MVP for JV football and achieved All-County recognition in men’s doubles tennis all four years of high school. Beyond academics and sports, Aarish managed the African Drum Club, performed as a violinist in the school’s musical pit orchestra and Select Choir, and played with the Long Island Youth Orchestra, also earning All-State violin alternate honors through NYSSMA. Additionally, he founded and served as president of the Chess Club.
Shana Benny, with a 111.60 GPA, is committed to the Sophie Davis BS/MD program at CUNY School of Medicine. Her pursuits include biomedical research, the Future Medical Leaders Club at Central, choir, and volunteering at North Shore University Hospital, underscoring her passion for medicine and service.
