This April, Valley Stream Memorial Junior High School invited over 50 alumni, community members, and various professionals to chat with students for Career Day. This annual event gives students the opportunity to interact with professionals from various fields and encourages them to think about their own individual interests and abilities.
Career exploration is an essential avenue in order for students to understand and choose careers. During Career Day, students learned skills on how to apply for a job, decide on a potential college major and choose school courses that may be required for certain careers and vocations.
In addition to attending Career Day, Memorial students also take career and technical education courses and other electives that introduce them to the basic information, content and steps necessary for effective planning for their lives after high school.

Memorial students interacted with professionals in a variety of fields for the school’s annual Career Day.

The school welcomed over 50 alumni, community members and various professionals for the event.

Career Day gives Memorial students the opportunity to explore various career paths.
