Dear Valley Stream community,
The search firm hired by the Valley Stream Central High School District to find its next superintendent will be presenting its Superintendent “Leadership Profile” to the Board of Education and general public at the next regular School Board meeting on March 8 at 8:00 p.m. Their findings will later be placed on the District's website in the Superintendent Search section.
The profile was developed using input from district stakeholders through a survey sent out to the community, as well as through public forums and meetings with staff and parent groups. The Leadership Profile Report will help give the Board a clear picture of the type of leader the community is looking for in its next superintendent and guide the marketing, recruitment and selection process.
The firm will recruit prospective candidates who are experienced and credentialed school administrators and provide the Board with a slate of highly qualified semi-finalists for consideration. The Board will meet these candidates who possess characteristics that align with the qualities that the Board is seeking in the District's next leader. From the semi-finalists, the Board will select the individual it feels is most capable of being the next educational leader of the District, beginning in the 2022-2023 school year.
