Students in the Valley Stream Central High School District returned to class Sept. 2, marking the start of the 2026-27 school year. Students were welcomed at Valley Stream Central High School, South High School, North High School and Memorial Junior High School, kicking off a new year of learning across the District.
Along with the resumption of classes, the District kicked off the school year with new programs in construction trades and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training. These joined the District’s growing catalog of in-house career and technical education options.
Students can also look forward to new academic and extracurricular opportunities this year, including expanded language and financial literacy electives, additional flexibility for Regents testing, the return of the golf club, and a growing girls wrestling program.
These offerings are aimed at ensuring every student feels supported and is given as many options as possible to find their passion.
