Valley Stream’s technology educators volunteered their skills and time in order to help keep others safe. Christopher Viggiano, a teacher at both Memorial Junior High School and South High School, and Christine Flynn, a teaching assistant at Memorial, traveled between the two buildings and used 3D printers and laser cutters to make masks.
As a result of their efforts, approximately 85 protective masks were distributed to district employees, FDNY EMTs and nurses on the frontline at South Nassau Hospital.
