The district is proud to announce that several students districtwide have received high honors in music. With five students and one alternate being selected for this year’s New York State School Music Association All-State Conference concert series, another student was selected for the NAfME All-National Mixed Chorus.
The NYSSMA All-State honorees include South High School’s Angela Lee, Zhi Lin, and Maya Wilkerson; Central High School’s Stephanie Parkinson; and North High School’s Alena Moreira. Central’s Crystina Windham was also selected as an alternate.
The students’ selection is based on their NYSSMA All-State audition scores of A+ on a level 6 All-State solo at the local NYSSMA festival in 2019. The conference, normally held in Rochester, has been canceled this year. Instead, the students are part of a virtual All-State concert.
Additionally, North’s Garrick Neuner has been selected for the NAfME All-National Mixed Chorus.
The district congratulates these students on their wonderful accomplishment.
