North High School hosted its first Social Justice Summit virtually. Led by the school’s Black Student Union and The Alliance, more than 175 students and staff attended.
The event was a community conversation that focused on social injustices that individuals from diverse backgrounds encounter. Social justice is the continuous process of eliminating ignorance and prejudice through education and awareness to bring equity to all members of society.
The groups challenged participants to reflect on topics discussed, not only through their thoughts and actions but also on the actions needed to build a path forward together. Through the active and positive participation of all involved, the mission is for these conversations to continue to be a catalyst for positive change.
