Central High School junior Michael Sinclair was selected to join the 2021 MIT Online Science, Technology, and Engineering Community Program.
Michael is one of 1,700 students from around the world who applied to this program and was selected for his commitment to personal excellence. During the program, those selected will take two online courses, attend weekly webinars, discussions, admissions sessions and online events, engage with MOSTEC peers and mentors via weekly Cluster meetings, the MOSTEC slack workspace and game nights, and post weekly blogs.
After working very hard throughout his ninth, 10th and 11th grade school years, Michael said he felt relieved when he learned he was selected for the program. He added that he’s also excited to meet other qualified students from around the world. “It’s kind of intimidating at first but after finishing a few orientations with a few members, I feel really honored to work with other students who are really accomplished in the science sphere.”
The district applauds Michael for this achievement and wishes him best of luck in the program.
