South High School student Keren Dial received high honors in the Long Island’s Best: Young Artists at The Heckscher Museum exhibit after earning the Celebrate Achievement Best in Show award.
This exhibition is the most prestigious juried competition for Long Island high school students. More than 300 student submissions, representing more than 50 schools across Long Island participated. Jurors chose 83 works of art for the exhibition. Keren is among four students to win the top prizes. She was awarded for her colored pencil artwork, “Cultivating Mustard.”
Three other Valley Stream students were also selected for the exhibit. These students were South High School’s Liz Lopez, North High School’s Alena Moreira and Central High School’s Amisha Mangal.
The district congratulates all students on being selected for this prestigious exhibit and applauded Keren for winning Celebrate Achievement Best in Show award.
