Valley Stream South High School’s Summer Bridge Program kicked off on July 11, giving South’s newest students for the 2022-2023 school year a taste of the junior high school experience.
Running until July 21, the Summer Bridge Program gives incoming 7th grade students the opportunity to become acclimated to their new school in a small group setting. The students receive their student IDs and school computers, get a chance to tour the school and gain an understanding of its layout, and mingle with new friends from different elementary schools through a number of socialization activities. All of it is designed to ensure a seamless transition to middle school for the students. Already they are off to a great start showing their excitement for new beginnings!
