Two Valley Stream South High School students were honored for their photography in the Photographic Federation of Long Island and the Photographic Society of America’s 2023 Youth Showcase. Damiana Barrera earned first place in the Best Architecture Printed Photo category and Ivan Hostiuk earned third place in the Monochromatic Projected Image category.
The Photographic Society of America, of which the Photographic Federation of Long Island is a part, seeks to encourage the newest generations to learn and share the enjoyment of photography. Each year, the Photographic Federation of Long Island gathers submissions from across the Island and submits them to the national contest.
