The English department at South High School held its first Poetry Out Loud Competition, which was open to all students. They participated virtually after school and performed their chosen poem live in front of judges.
In the junior high school competition, eighth grader Aliyah Andre came in first place and eighth grader Lovisha Singh came in second place. The winner for the senior high school competition was 11th grader Manahil Chaudhry who will move on to the regional competition.
The district is proud of all students who competed.
