A Message from South’s Principal – Matthew Swinson

Dear South High School Learning Community,

It is with great pride and excitement that I welcome you to the 2023-24 school year as the Principal of South High School. Thank you for the honor of leading this school, one with a rich tradition in and out of the classroom. As a result of the inspired hard work of our students, teachers, parents, and staff, South High School has earned a reputation for academic excellence and community leadership.

South administrators, teachers, and staff are dedicated to fostering a community of critical thinkers, life-long learners, and readers and writers in the arts and sciences who value their education as key to creating their world. Together, we bring awareness and access to the resources in and outside of our school that will assist students in making a road map for their success.

South teachers and administrators look forward to the opportunity to partner with you and your child to provide a safe and productive learning environment. We are committed to giving all students an appropriate, rigorous, and affirming educational experience that cultivates reflection, respect, and collaboration.
