Adult Education

Valley Stream Adult School Evening Classes

The Adult Education program provides opportunities for lifelong learning for members of the community. A variety of courses are offered in both the fall and spring semesters, and details about courses can be found in our Adult Education brochure, which is posted on our website and available in paper form at the district office. The fall semester begins in September and the spring semester begins in January of each year.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic we have suspended in-person Adult Education through at least Spring 2022. We are pleased to offer a variety of online courses, seminars, and webinars to our community. We hope that the virtual format allows participants to continue to engage in lifelong learning and fitness. Many of our courses are free or at a reduced price in order to encourage participation.

There is no in person registration for the Spring 2022 semester. Participants may register online and follow up by mailing payment, or may print the registration form from the adult education booklet and mail it to Adult Education, 1 Kent Road, Valley Stream, New York 11580. Please submit a separate registration for each course. Links to Zoom webinars will be sent prior to the course date, therefore a valid email address needs to be provided.

Please click here to access the online registration form. If you are registering for a course that requires a fee, please mail a check or money order in the correct amount to Adult Education, Valley Stream Central High School District, One Kent Road, Valley Stream, NY 11580.

Senior citizen Gold Card holders have the opportunity to take most courses for the nominal fee of $15 per course. Gold cards are free and are available to Valley Stream residents who are 60 years and older. Seniors who would like a Gold Card should send in proof of age and residency with their registration form in order to receive the discount.
