Valley Stream North High School senior Shannon Morgan is among 106 students nationwide that have been named winners of a 2020 Horatio Alger National Scholarship.
An AP Scholar with Distinction and AP Capstone Diploma recipient, Shannon serves as president of the National Honor Society and is a member of all other honor societies at North. She is also Student Council vice president and participates in the Ecology Club, Grade Council and North Star magazine.
In addition to her academic success, Shannon is part of the 7:10 Downbeats acapella group, chorus and varsity softball team. She volunteers at an animal clinic in her spare time.
Shannon plans to pursue studies in cybersecurity or digital forensics in college.
