North High School Students Receive College Board Recognition

October 3, 2023

Seven Valley Stream North High School students have been selected as College Board National Recognition Program awardees. College Board is a nonprofit organization that expands access to higher education by connecting students to college-readiness programs.

Nidha Dar, Gabriel Gonzalez, Alexis Avila and Alyanna Nadal received the National Hispanic Recognition Award; and Leah Tyme, Juliana Blain and Sofia Garnier earned National African American Recognition awards.

Criteria for this distinction is based on academic achievement in school as well as outstanding performance on the PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10 and/or Advanced Placement exams. The accolades are intended for placement on the students’ respective college applications in order to identify exemplary students from historically underrepresented groups.

“We are so proud of our students for their hard work in class and in their pursuit of higher education,” said North Principal Dr. Robin Small. “This recognition serves as a testament to their dedication, and is also a valuable addition to their college applications.”
