Every year, the Valley Stream North High School Social Studies department takes tenth graders to the Holocaust Museum and Toleration Center. Students go through a guided tour of the exhibit and then have the once in a lifetime opportunity to hear the heroic story of a Holocaust survivor. This year, students are participating in the One Act of Courage program which was designed to encourage students to become upstanders and promote positive change. Students are also eligible to apply for a $2,500 Upstander Award and scholarship given out by the Holocaust Museum.
