Valley Stream, NEW YORK (March, 2022)—Valley Stream Memorial Junior High School had special visitors for Pi Day this year: Molloy College’s Math Club!
Memorial students came down to the auxiliary gym during math class to work with the visiting Molloy students on several educational activities. Students formed teams to compete to see who could memorize the most digits of Pi. The winning group memorized more than 115 digits! Students also saw an approximation of Pi demonstrated with toothpicks, and after that, the groups came up with words that started with the letters “Pi.”
