Hocus Pocus with Valley Stream Central High School’s Performing Arts Students

October 27, 2021

Valley Stream, NY (September 2021)—Volunteerism, especially when it involves working with the young children of Valley Stream, has always been a favorite activity for the students of Valley Stream Central High School. Recently, four High School Performing Arts students had the opportunity to help Wheeler Avenue Elementary School children enjoy a festive Halloween Hocus Pocus movie night sponsored by the elementary school’s PTA! Responding to the request from the Wheeler Avenue PTA, the Performing Arts students dressed up as the Sanderson Sisters and Billy the Zombie to help add an extra special element to the PTA’s first in-person event in almost two years.

“It was great to see our students take the time out of their busy schedules to volunteer for these young students,” said Dr. Joseph Pompilio, Principal of Valley Stream Central High School. “It was a last-minute request, but as our students always do, these four outstanding representatives of our High School came through to make this a most memorable experience for these youngsters.”

Performing at Hocus Pocus Movie Night were Anna Lobach, Cariessa McFarlane, Noehra Augustin and Joshua Gonzales.
