Central High School student-performers Monty Person and Tatianna Rosello have been selected among the top 50 nominees for the prestigious 2025 Roger Rees Outstanding Performer Awards. Monty and Tatianna were selected for their standout performances as The Scarecrow and Dorothy, respectively, in Central’s fall production of The Wiz.
Under the direction of teacher Patrick Tirino, the pair were chosen from hundreds of performers across the Tri-State area for their skills in acting, singing, and dancing. The recognition earned them a chance to compete at the Symphony Space in Manhattan, with potential to advance to the national Jimmy Awards.
Presented by the Broadway Education Alliance, the Roger Rees Awards honor the legacy of Tony Award-winning actor Roger Rees. The program provides nominees with professional training from Broadway artists and culminates in a showcase at a premier Manhattan venue. Finalists compete for scholarships and performance opportunities, with many alumni going on to Broadway and professional careers.
