Central Student Advances in NYSSEF Competition

April 7, 2020

Central High School student Najalia Singh has been named a finalist in the New York State Science and Engineering Fair. Her project is titled, “Applying Blankenship’s Method in the RSA Cryptosystem to Test Information Security.”

Given the present circumstances, the New York State Science and Engineering Fair was changed from a live fair at the New York Hall of Science to a digital platform. Students had less than week to submit a six minute video presentation of their work. Professors and scientists from around New York State scored their projects at home and submitted their scores digitally.

Najalia took on this challenge with determination, and will now advance to a live video competition judged by a panel of scientists and professionals. She will receive an undisclosed monetary prize with the prospect of more awards pending her final rank. She has worked extremely hard on her research and has been preparing for her live judging, which will take place on April 8.

Best of luck and congratulations to Najalia!
