Valley Stream Central High School junior Michaela Sinclair achieved the dual honors of joining MIT’s Online Science, Technology and Engineering Program (MOSTEC) for this summer and being named a QuestBridge College Prep Scholar.
Currently, Michaela has plans to pursue chemistry in the hopes of becoming a dermatologist and ultimately develop her own line of skin-care products. Her interests are varied, however, and at MOSTEC, which is a six-month program that begins this summer, she is seeking to study neuroscience as well as applied mathematics and aquatic chemistry. MOSTEC selects applicants based on their strong academic record and interest in science and engineering.
Additionally, Michaela was recognized as a QuestBridge College Prep Scholar. Prep Scholars are high school juniors who have demonstrated high academic achievement, and as part of the accolade, they become eligible for several helpful resources, including scholarships and resources to help in the college admissions process.
