Valley Stream Central High School recently hosted a career day for its senior high school students. The special event introduced the students to various professions and provided guidance on career and college choices.
The day started with a keynote speaker: Brian Worthington, a helicopter pilot with the New York City Police Department Aviation Unit and an entrepreneur who owns his own aviation company. From there, 10th grade students taking part went to different rooms and listened to past Central graduates about their experiences with college and their careers.
The day ended with an afternoon roundtable session for 11th and 12th graders in Katherine Plett’s college business law class, where they were able to sit down and speak with the Central graduates about careers and life experiences.
