Central High School’s Key Club collaborated with SADD/YOLO and hosted a chalk walk event to in honor of Autism Awareness Month. Key Club Lieutenant Governor-Elect and Central High School junior Zakkiyya Affifah Fraser decided to put this event together to spread positivity and ensure that those affected by autism feel included within the community.
For the event, students used chalk to decorate the sidewalk in front of the building with positive messages and images. The goal was to set the tone that all students and staff feel welcome as they walk into the building. The school also hopes that these eye-catching designs draw attention and awareness to autism.
