The district has been named among 2021’s Best Public High Schools in New York State based on a new study conducted by WalletHub. Each of the district’s schools were prominently ranked on the list.
WalletHub compared more than 1,200 public high schools across 26 metrics. These metrics were grouped into four categories, including college readiness, school experience, diversity and teacher and staff. Based on the data collected by WalletHub, Central High School’s score was 76.22, South High School’s score was 75.28 and North High School’s score was 73.81.
“I think this is an amazing achievement for our schools,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Bill Heidenreich. “We believe our students thrive in the Valley Stream Central High School District and this honor is a true reflection of the hard work, support and dedication of our entire staff, the parents, and our community to their education.”
