A Message From the Superintendent on the End of the 2022-2023 School Year

June 23, 2023

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we come to the end of the 2022-2023 school year, I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for your invaluable support, collaboration, and partnership throughout this extraordinary year.

The past year has seen incredible successes in the Valley Stream Central High School District. None of it would have been possible without your unwavering commitment to your children’s education. Your support has played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our students.

We recognize the immense responsibility that falls on your shoulders as parents and guardians. Your patience, understanding, and active involvement have been instrumental in creating the solid foundation and community on which our high school students have been able to thrive. Whether it was helping students with assignments, providing a supportive learning environment at home, or attending a major sporting event, your dedication has made a significant impact on our students’ achievements.

Post-pandemic has reaffirmed the importance of community, and we are incredibly grateful for the sense of togetherness and solidarity that we have witnessed within the Valley Stream Central High School District this year.

As we head into the summer break, I encourage you all to take this time to rest, rejuvenate, and enjoy quality moments with your children. It is well deserved for both you and your families. As for the families of our graduating seniors, we wish you the best of luck, and we hope your children look back on their high school years with fondness.

Thank you for entrusting us with your children’s education. On behalf of the Valley Stream Central High School District, I wish you a safe, rejuvenating, and enjoyable summer with your famlies.

Dr. Wayne Loper
Superintendent of Schools
