Central High School
2013 Summer Reading Assignment Information
A Message from Central's Principal
The academic program at Central ranges from an array of Advanced Placement Courses to supporting instructional resources. Students are challenged by dedicated teachers on a daily basis creating a rigorous academic environment. Personalized academic experiences exists at Central where student achievement is realized in and out of the classroom, and each student receives comprehensive support from every staff member in the building. Our strong parent involvement is essential for sustaining our successful school.
In my diverse educational experience, responsibility and discipline remain instrumental in establishing a serious academic environment. Students must demonstrate responsibility in all facets of high school life and must be accountable for their actions. Students should realize that school is a dignified place and dress and behavior must be appropriate. As educators, we prepare your son or daughter for future education and employment and therefore every class, every interaction with a teacher, and every challenge is relevant to the future.
While clearly defining student expectations, Central High School is committed to providing our students with nothing less than exceptional educational opportunities. Our Performing Arts program allows students to pursue a rigorous academic program while being immersed in the arts. Our culinary, cosmetology, and business programs are comparable to professional school programs. Central’s extracurricular activities and athletic programs are numerous, diverse, and engaging.
I could continue this introduction of Central High School by listing statistics, columns of information and academic course descriptions. Despite the importance of specific information, a paramount requirement for understanding Central is to be exposed, even for one day, to the students and teachers who demonstrate the ideals of high school existence.
