Director’s Message
The Adult Education Program is based on the premise that learning is continuous and that people have many interests that both stimulate and relax the mind and the body. Our program is quite diversified and we encourage you to join other community members in an evening of stimulation and excitement. I do hope you will participate in our many different courses.
Our catalog of course offerings is mailed to all Valley Stream Residents in late August for the Fall series and mid December for the Winter series. This comprehensive information lists all courses and necessary registration information, including the calendar of classes, gold card procedures, preferred method of payment and important registration dates.
Senior citizen Gold Card holders have the opportunity to take most courses for the nominal fee of $12 per course, plus any materials fee. Gold Cards are available to those Valley Stream residents 60 years or older. Seniors must apply in person for the cards and show proof of age, residency and complete a short form.
The Adult Education Office is located in Memorial Junior High School, 320 Fletcher Avenue, Valley Stream. (Senior citizens registering by mail for classes must enclose a photocopy of their Valley Stream Gold Card.)
